It was cold, damp and rainy when a pet owner tied this English Bulldog outside of the Society’s Newark facility. Staffers were not aware of the abandonment until she had been out there for awhile. As a result, she has developed an upper respiratory infection which is being treated. Old wounds and skin markings indicate that she had been with other dogs who had bitten or attacked her. Thanks to continued donations to our Res-Q Fund, your generosity helps us to care for sick and needy animals that come through our doors.
We’ve named her Maggie and she is one of several purebred dogs waiting for “a new leash on life” at the Society. Among others are a Sheltie, Beagles, Yorkie Terriers, Jack Russell Terriers, Lab Retrievers, Chihuahuas, Mastiff, Golden Retriever plus new ones arrive every day. We also have lots and lots of furry bundles of questionable ancestry. All animals are microchipped, altered, have inoculations, leash, i.d. tag and 10 day medical guarantee.
For more information on Maggie, call the Society at 973-824-7080 or e-mail usand refer to File 114410. The Society is located at 124 Evergreen Ave. in Newark, just off of Rt. 1 and 9, near the Newark International Airport. The Society is open 7 days a week between noon and 4:00.
