The Story of the Howell Dogs

The AHS opened its doors to several animals that had been released to us after authorities found a hoarding situation at her Howell residence. Mercedes Lopez, a previous Animal Control Officer, was charged with numerous counts of animal cruelty. Newspaper reports indicate that there were over 200 animals that lived in and around the property which included roosters, rabbits and at least 100 cats. Many cats suffering from upper respiratory infection and eye diseases were found living in the basement of the home.  Several agencies were on hand to assist.
Pictured are just some of the animals that the Associated Humane Societies has available for adoption. Your donation to our Res-Q Fund (LINK) which allows us to keep our doors open to help the needy, the victims of cruelty & abuse.
Among the animals rescued are two Yorkie Terriers, a Miniature Pinscher, a Boxer and more.
